Artistic Director
ANGEL
GARCIA CLEMENTE: Director and Choreographer
of TANGO Y MAS Theatrical dance company. Originator
of DANCE FURY, and ROXANA'S TANGO nominated for
best Musical and best Director in 2007 by the
ACE awards. He is one of New York’s most
popular and accomplished dancers and Choreographers.
Angel is known for his elegant and passionate
interpretations of Argentine Tango and Latin
American Folklore, including Salsa and Merengue.
He has choreographed and directed numerous productions,
including Camilla "The Musical" and
in NYC he has performed in important venues such
as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Madison
Square Garden. Films and music videos include:
My Cousin Vinnie, Dance With Me, Falling in Rhythm,
On the Hook (@ the Tribeca film festival 2008)
and the new Disney film Enchanted. Angel has
just returned from he Dominican Republic where
he was featured as the lead in the feature film "Mi
Vida Bailando"( My Life Dancing).
CECILIA
SAIA: Acclaimed for her lead role in
the iconic stage shows Forever Tango and Swango,
Cecilia Saia is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina,
who has garnered a reputation as one of Tango’s
leading ladies. She has performed in and choreographed
shows around the world, including those of tango
legend Juan Carlos Copes and Julio Boca. She
regularly performs and teaches in NYC in such
venues as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.
MARIANA
PARMA: Dancer/choreographer Mariana
Parma is widely known and admired for her masterful
expertise in Argentine Tango and Swing. She is
an in-demand performer and has choreographed
theater productions, been featured in film, including
Random Hearts, and on national TV. Based in NYC,
she was a producer and performer in the off-Broadway
hit Swango, and coached Chita Rivera on how to
tango for Venecia, directed by Arthur Laurents.
She was the choreographer for All That Tango,
which won a 2002 ACE Award for Best Latin Musical.
JASON
COLACINO: Jason is highly regarded in
the dance world, with a wealth of talent in West
Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, Country
Western, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Jazz, and Ballet.
He won the US Open Swing Championship as well
as the World Country Western Championship and
has been featured in several stage productions
including Swango, Tango Dreams and A Broadway
Tribute. Jason teaches internationally and also
judges Country Western and West Coast Swing competitions.
Incorporating his jazz and ballet technique,
he has created a unique style of his own allowing
him to be powerful, swift and intricate in his
dance.
HEATHER
GEHRING & LOU BROCK: Began their
partnership in 2003. Separately they had performed
in movies (Mona Lisa Smile, The Stepford Wives),
on television (The Oprah Winfrey Show, Dance
Fever, Star Search, MTV), and on stage (The American
Ballroom Theater, The Hartford Ballet, Garden
State Ballet). Together they have done the same
together in film (Disney’s Enchanted, Little
Manhattan) and Television (Good Morning America,
The Tony Danza Show). On stage, they are known
as Heather and Brock, have performed at the annual
Viennese Opera Ball in New York and are the innovators
of a new style of dance - The Manhattan - based
on a shared passion for romance. The New York
Times has called it…”slyly sophisticated…a
rare treat”. Heather is the director of
her own contemporary dance company- Gehring Dancetheatre;
Lou teaches at New York University, Dance Manhattan
and for the American Ballet Theater’s Dancing
Classrooms program which brings ballroom dancing
to inner city kids.
